Criminal wanted in Kidnapping, Loot case gunned down in Assam’s Goalpara district

 The injured criminal identified as Abdur Rahman alias Rinku was shifted to Goalpara Civil Hospital


Guwahati: A miscreant wanted in several cases including kidnapping was shot at by police while fleeing from custody in Assam’s Goalpara district, Superintendent of police Mrinal Deka said on Wednesday.

The incident was reported in a village namely Rakhasini under Mornoi police station.

The injured person identified as Abdur Rahman alias Rinku was shifted to Goalpara Civil Hospital.

According to police, Rinku was involved in a kidnapping case of one Bikas Rabha on March 12, 2022. It is learned that kidnapper Rinku sold Rabha for Rs 5 lakh near Indo-Bangla Border.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team from Mornoi police station along with Krishnai police launched an operation and nabbed Abdur Rahman from Baghmara in Meghalaya.

The police team also rescued Bikas Rabha and took him into their custody.

The police also informed that accused Rinku was shot on the run, after he assaulted the police party in a bid to escape from the spot
